Kingstand farm, derbyshire
Bespoke Commercial Solar system
Background
Kingstand Farm, located in Derbyshire, is a biofuel supplier specialising in drying various types of biological material for use as fuel, such as logs for fires.
Committed to sustainability, they were looking to enhance their operations by integrating renewable energy solutions to support their energy-intensive processes.
The Challenge
Kingstand Farm needed a strong energy system capable of supporting the demands associated with drying biological materials.
However, after applying to the National Grid, we were told that the system must be limited to exporting no more than 30kW to the grid, and the inverter could not exceed 50kW.
The Solution
Grid Neutral designed a tailored commercial solar solution to maximise the energy benefits and follow National Grid constraints.
We maxed out the system to 65kW worth of solar panels to get the most out of what we could install.
This approach allowed Kingstand Farm to get as much benefit as possible from their system.
Results
Despite the limitations on export and inverter capacity, the 65kW array maximises energy generation, leading to substantial reductions in energy costs.
Kingstand Farm now enjoys a more sustainable and cost-effective operation, with the renewable energy system supporting their drying processes efficiently.
